Our Soap-Making Philosophy

Our soap-making philosophy at Lex-chasetrendyfashion centres on using high-quality ingredients, sourcing materials sustainably, and employing the cold process soap-making method. We emphasize creating a safe and high-quality product for our customers. These core values influence our choices regarding fats, oils, lye, scents, and colourants, ultimately impacting the soap's characteristics and the brand experience.

Sourcing Our Ingredients

Our priorities play a significant role in ingredient sourcing. We focus on freshness, sustainability, and ethical practices. High-quality ingredients are the backbone of our exceptional final product. By fostering strong supplier relationships, implementing rigorous quality control measures, and engaging with industry peers, we ensure our ingredients meet the highest standards for our handmade cold process natural soaps.

Cold Process Soap Making: A Step-by-Step Guide

To make our cold process soap, we first prepare our workspace and safety gear, then weigh and mix our lye solution, allowing it to cool. Next, we melt and combine solid and liquid oils, adding any fragrances or additives to the mixture after it reaches a consistent temperature. We then combine the lye solution and oils, mixing with a stick blender until the mixture reaches "trace". The soap is poured into a mold to set, and after 24-48 hours, it's removed, sliced, and left to cure for four to six weeks, ensuring a mild and long-lasting bar.

Unique Techniques and Challenges

Soap-making is an art! We use unique ingredients like natural colorants, specific oils , and skin-enhancing exfoliants or emollients to create something special. We use cold-process techniques. However, challenges like achieving the proper 'trace,' preventing ingredient separation, avoiding brittle bars, and dealing with white powder deposits can arise. But don't worry, precise measurement and recipe adjustments can save the day!
